Ours To Run declared her intention to repeat as the older Filly or Mare Champion Louisiana Bred with her victory in the Carousel Stakes at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas on Saturday. The Carousel was the daughter of Half Ours fifth straight stake win with the streak beginning last May at Evangeline Downs. Given the summer off she returned with a win in the Happy Ticket Stakes at Fair Grounds which was followed by her win in the Louisiana Champions Day Ladies Sprint. In 2019 she had won the Louisiana Premier Night Matron (for the second time). In the Carousel, Ours To Run stalked the early pace from the outside then went five wide on the turn the pulled away from Grade II winner(and GI placed) Mia Mischief in the stretch to win by an easy three and three quarters lengths in a final time of 1:10:84 on the sloppy Oaklawn surface. Owned by Colonel Thoroughbreds LLC (Kevin Atwood), the filly bred by Clifford Grum has now won eleven races from nineteen starts and has earned $427,988.
