Virginia Lazenby's homebred TAP DANCE STAR added black-type in the off the turf Red Camelia S at the Fair Grounds. She had already garnered a stakes placing in the Louisiana Legends Soiree Stakes earlier this year, and another in the 1 mile Lookout S. at Delta Downs. She is trained by Oscar  Modica.

Racing a mile at the Fair Grounnds,  3 year old colt NUGGETSOFKNOWLEDGE hustled out of the gate 5 wide, pressed the pace and was on the lead coming into the stretch. He pushed on to win by over 4 lengths in a MSW. He is owned by Allied Racing Stable, LLC  and trained by  William B. Bradley. It was his 5th start and he has been on the board for all but the first.

SEE CARLOS RUN has hit the board in all of his previous starts and got the job done today graduating sprinting 5 furlongs at Delta Downs. He made an inside bid and cleared for the win. The 3 year old gelding is owned by Drop 23, LLC , trained by  Henry B. Johnson, Jr.
and was bred by Clear Creek Stud LLC. He has earned just shy of $50,000,

MR MAKEITHAPPEN made it happen almost a year to the date of his first start. The 3-year-old gelding went to the front and stayed there sprinting 5 furlongs at Delta Downs to graduate in style. Today he went right to the front and stayed there to win an allowance race again at Delta Downs going 5 furlongs on the dirt.  He is trained and owned by Ricky Demouchet.

JUS DREAM BIG graduates 2nd time out in a MSW at the Fair Grounds

JUS DREAM BIG went off the favorite and deserved it racing a mile on the dirt at the Fair Grounds. He broke well then tracked the pace in second until turned loose in the stretch, where he edged clear to win by 1 1/2 lengths. The 3-year-old cot is owned by  Ellen Addison and trained by  Steven M. Asmussen. He was bred by Pine Knoll.
 


WAYCROSS wires field to graduate 1st out

Sprinting at Delta Downs, WAYCROSS zipped to the lead from his outside post and wired the field to graduate first time out of the gate. The three-year-old gelding is owned by Bruno Roland and his trainer Bill Langford.


MONTE MAN wins race # 11

MSW MONTE MAN followed his second place finish in the LA Bred Premier Night Sprint Stakes with an allowance win at the Fair Grounds going 6 furlongs on the dirt, He was eager early but was eased back off the pace and then made his run to win by 2 1/2 lengths. MONTE MAN had a 7 race winning streak in 2017 - 2018 with 5 of those in stakes company. He has earned over $434,000 for owners Ivery Sisters Racing. The 6 year old gelding is trained by  Ron Faucheux and was bred by Val C. Murrell.

While still a maiden, BETO had already placed in the D S Shine Young Futurity at Evangeline Downs and in the Louisiana Cup Juvenile S..He broke his maiden by over 5 lengths at Remington Park. Today he quickly gained the lead and sprinting at Delta Downs and won by over 2 lengths. The three-year-old gelding is now trained by Lee Thomas for new owner Keith Plaisance.

 

At the Fair Grounds three-year-old filly SAY YES AGAIN broke her maiden by 5 lengths. She was claimed out of the race by Susan and Richard Piper and trainer Sam David,Jr. We wish her new connections the best.

 


FIRE MAKERS STAR sprints to graduation

FIRE MAKERS STAR was carried out then needed to duel for the win, but he was victorious and graduated from the maiden ranks by 2 lengths sprinting at Delta Downs. He is a homebred for  Marvin W. Klare and is trained by Scott Gelner.

 


ROCKIN SUNDAY MASS romps by 5 3/4 to win her 3rd

Towards the end of last year, ROCKIN SUNDAY MASS  wired the field to win racing 6 1/2 furlongs at Delta. Today she romped by almost 6 lengths in allowance company again at Delta. She has earned over $94,000 in 6  starts for her owner/breeder Brittlyn Stable, Inc. and trainer  Jose M. Camejo. This filly has a record of 6: 3-2-1 and therefore has won 50% and never been off the board. Keep and eye on this one!
 
 


JUS SOCKS by HALF OURS graduates 1st out

Making her first start, JUS SOCKS lost position slightly but then moved to the outside and sailed for the wire to claim her graduation by a widening length to win her first start. The 3-year old filly is owned by Ellen Addison, bred by Pine Knoll, LLC (LA)and trained by Steven M. Asmussen 


MAJOR RIDGE by STAR GUITAR wins his second

MAJOR RIDGE broke his maiden in the fall at the Fair Grounds and followed that with a second. Today he closed strongly and went from last to first for the victory - his second - for owner/breeder   David Thomas Rogers. The newly turned 3-year-old colt is trained by Ralph E. Nicks
 


STARMALINE by STAR GUITAR makes it 2 in a row to remain undeafeated

Newly turned 4 year old filly STARMALINE trounced her field of maidens by 10 lengths last month. Slightly slow out of the gate this time, she dropped down to the fence, rated nicely and when let go, opened up on the field to win by over 6 lengths. She raced a mile and 70 at the Fair Grounds.
