      MAKE ME SMILE has been on the board in all  4 prior starts and went off the favorite today. The 3 year old gelding went right to the lead out of the gate, dueled on the inside but got in tight and had to check. He came on again from 2nd and won by 2 lengths in a MSW going 7 1/2 on the turf at Evangeline Downs. He is owned by Robert Asaro, Robert and  Grefg Tramontin and is trained by  Keith G. Bourgeois

      Three-year-old gelding TRULY STELLAR accelerated late to clear the field and graduate in a MSW at Presque Isle Downs going 6 furongs on the all weather track. He is trained by Cassondra Weaver for owner William E. Wilmoth.

      MINIT TO STARDOM went two-for-two for this barn while lowering a course record  A Louisiana-bred stakes winner at two and multiple stakes-placed last term while a member of the Al Stall, Jr. barn, the Benoit homebred scored by 3 1/4 lengths on the trainer change in a main-track Delaware optional claimer May 8. Backed at 3-2 returning to the grass for the first time since finishing second in a restricted Fair Grounds optional claimer Mar. 21, the bay had things all to herself up front through splits of :22.58 and :44.51 and scampered clear to post an easy 2 1/2-length tally. The winner is a full to Wild About Star, SW, $188,200, who annexed the The Very One S. for these same connections May 18. A talented turf sprinter herself, Wild About Marie produced Star Guitar coltsin 2017, 2018 and 2019.

      MAJOR RIDGE broke his maiden in the fall at the Fair Grounds and followed that with a second. Early this year he closed strongly and went from last to first for the victory - his second - for owner/breeder  David Thomas Rogers. The 3-year-old gelding was claimed out of that winning race and is now owned by Dat Right Racing and trained by Corale Richards. Today he won his third race going a mile on the dirt at Evangeline Downs. He ran close to the pace and then cleared to win by almost 3 lengths.

    • GUITARZAN by STAR GUITAR graduates in a MSW

      Racing in a 6 1/2 furlong MSW at Evangeline Downs, GUITARZAN engaged almost immediately in a duel for the lead, took it and stayed there to break his maiden by 2 1/4 lengths. He is trained by Karl Broberg for owner  Gary Luetticke.

      MY FIRST GUITAR The 4-year-old gelding is a family affair, owned by Philman Ladner and trained by Herman F. Ladner, Jr. Today he added win #3 racing 7 1/2 furlongs at Evangeline Downs. He stalked the pace and then cleared for the win by 3 lengths.

      5-year-old mare WILD ABOUT STAR  sprinted 5 furlongs on the turf in 56.93 in front the of the Preakness crowd at Pimlico. The Brittlyn Stable homebred is trained by Jose M. Camejo. She holds the enviable lifetime record of 16-6-2-2, $188,200. She won by almost 2 lengths,

      As a 2 year old, ASONGFORYOU cleared his $400,000 OBSAPR grad rival by a neck to win his first start last fall at Indiana Grand  Back at 3, he was 3rd in his first try and today stalked the pace and then hit the wire in front to win sprinting on the all weather track at Arlington Park. He owned by Maggi Moss, was bred by Jerold Murrell (LA) and is trained by Thomas M. Amoss. ASONGFORYOU  has not been off the board in 4 starts with 2 of them wins.

    • SW MINIT TO STARDOM by STAR GUITAR takes allowance at Delaware Park

      MINIT TO STARDOM won her first three starts by a combined 18 3/4 lengths, including the Louisiana Lassie S. at Fair Grounds late in her 2-year-old season and a Churchill optional claimer last May. She settled for sixth in the prestigious GI Test S. at Saratoga in August, and was second in each of three subsequent tries against fellow Louisiana-breds. Last seen dropping out of stakes company to be second in a grassy optional claimer at Fair Grounds Mar. 21, she was 3-5 here off the trainer switch from Al Stall, Jr. Immediately in command, the Benoit homebred cruised through splits of :22.34 and :45.22 and glided under the line with a 3 1/4-length cushion.     • TAP DANCE STAR 2nd in the Evangeline Downs Distaff

      Virginia Lazenby's homebred TAP DANCE STAR added even more black type running second in the $75,000 Evangeline Downs Distaff on Friday night. TAP DANCE STAR had been last in the field of six through the early stages, but closed well and beat out Hyper Piper for second. Recently she was third  in the off the turf Red Camelia S at the Fair Grounds. She had already garnered a stakes placing in the Louisiana Legends Soiree Stakes earlier this year, and another in the 1 mile Lookout S. at Delta Downs. She is trained by Oscar  Modica.

      Virginia Lazenby's homebred TAP DANCE STAR added black-type in the off the turf Red Camelia S at the Fair Grounds. She had already garnered a stakes placing in the Louisiana Legends Soiree Stakes earlier this year, and another in the 1 mile Lookout S. at Delta Downs. She is trained by Oscar  Modica.

      Patience paid off for 4-year-old filly FENDER BENDER. Sprinting at Evangeline Downs, she emerged from the gate in front and stayed there to win by 8 widening lengths. Now a newly turned 5 year old and sprinting again - at Delta Downs this time - she again went wire to wire - holding on to win by a neck, She is a homebred for Brittlyn Stables, Inc. and is trained by Allen Landry.

    • FIRE MAKERS STAR sprints to graduation

      FIRE MAKERS STAR was carried out then needed to duel for the win, but he was victorious and graduated from the maiden ranks by 2 lengths sprinting at Delta Downs. He is a homebred for  Marvin W. Klare and is trained by Scott Gelner.


    • ROCKIN SUNDAY MASS romps by 5 3/4 to win her 3rd

      Towards the end of last year, ROCKIN SUNDAY MASS  wired the field to win racing 6 1/2 furlongs at Delta. Today she romped by almost 6 lengths in allowance company again at Delta. She has earned over $94,000 in 6  starts for her owner/breeder Brittlyn Stable, Inc. and trainer  Jose M. Camejo. This filly has a record of 6: 3-2-1 and therefore has won 50% and never been off the board. Keep and eye on this one!

      Newly turned 4 year old filly STARMALINE trounced her field of maidens by 10 lengths last month. Slightly slow out of the gate this time, she dropped down to the fence, rated nicely and when let go, opened up on the field to win by over 6 lengths. She raced a mile and 70 at the Fair Grounds.

    • GIVEMEAMINIT by STAR GUITAR romps in allowance at the Fair Grounds

      Winner last out of the Louisiana Champions Day Sprint, GIVEMEAMINIT came back with an easy allowance win going 6 furlongs at the Fair Grounds. The Louisiana Champions Day Sprint, was the first stakes win for Givemeaminit but he had previously demonstrated his class with a third in the Grade I Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga in the summer of 2017. He is also stakes-placed in the Pat Day Mile (GIII) and last year’s Louisiana Futurity and was a creditable fourth in the 2017 Breeders Cup Juvenile (GI). To date, the Dallas Stewart trainee has started sixteen times with three wins and earnings of $401,58 for his owner Valene Farms. He was bred by Clear Creek Stud.
