      DOUBLE STAR  added to his resume with a third in the Pelican S at Delta Downs. The colt is owned Four Star Racing, bred by Thomas Edward Vinci & Bill Mayfield (LA) and trained by Robert D. Schultz. DOUBLE STAR  has 2 wins, a 2nd and 3 3rds in 8 starts and has earned over $61,000.

    • BLUE SUADE GUITAR takes MSW in a romp

      Brittlyn homebred BLUE SUADE GUITAR hit the board in his prior 2 starts and used those starts as a springboard to graduate  by over 7 lengths in a MSW going 7 1/2 furlongs at Delta Downs, He won off as he pleased for trainer Victor Arceneaux. Keep and eye on this one!

    • GUITAR KING by STAR GUITAR graduates at the Fair Grounds

      GUITAR KING had to go inside, overcome being checked in traffic, but got the job done going 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf at the Fair Grounds. He is owned by Steve D. Roe and Patricia L Roe and is trained by  Patrick Mouton. The 3-year-old gelding is trained by Warran Harang.

    • PICKNNGRINN by STAR GUITAR wires allowance field by almost 10

       PICKNNGRINN pressed the pace from inside and then drew off to an easy 5 length lead at the wire in his second star at 2 in a MSW at Remington Park. Back on his home track, he annihilated the field sprinting 5 1/2 lengths in allowance company. He again went to the lead from the inside and wired the field -  this time by almost 10 lengths,  The colt is owned by and Gerald Rich. He was bred by Jacquelyn J. Rich DVM & Gerald Rich and is trained by Steven M. Asmussen. Keep an eye on this one!

    • G1SP GIVEMEAMINIT by STAR GUITAR romps in his MSW graduation

       GIVEMEAMINIT was 2nd in his debut at Saratoga as a 2 year old and followed that with a third in a blanket finish in the G1 Hopeful S. in his second trip to the post. He made three more graded appearances and finished out his 2 year old season witha narrowly beaten runner-up finish in the  Louisiana Futurity S.  Sent off the 1-20 favorite when finally back in the maiden ranks, he rallied three wide into the lane and strolled to the lead en route to a an eight-length romping victory. He has an interesting lifetime history for a horse in a MSW - GISP, 7-1-2-1, $213,466. The colt is owned by Valene Farms LLC and was bred by Clear Creek Stud LLC (LA). He is trained by Dallas Stewart. 

    • 2 winners for STAR GUITAR!

      Already on the board once. STAR GUITARIST broke her maiden at Delta Downs racing 6 1/2 furlongs in a MSW. She is a homebred for Thomas R Peters and is trained by Fletcher Player. The just turned 4-year-old  came 3 wide and took over in the stretch. On the same card, LEGENDARY LARRY graduated sprinting 5 furlongs. He came into this race with 2 third place finishes and went off the heavy favorite. The 3 year old gelding is a homebred for Love Partnership Interests LP  and is trained by Karl  Broberg .

    • CUSTOM FOR CARLOS and STAR GUITAR both have winners at Delta Downs

      FRENZY, a 4-year-old filly by CUSTOM FOR CARLOS graduated going 6 1/2 furlongs for owner/breeder/trainer combination of  Bill Langford and Roland Bruno. She won by over 6 lengths. STAR ROCKET a 4-year-old colt by STAR GUITAR also graduated on the same card going a mile and he won by 3/4 of a length. He is a homebred for Israel Flores Horses LLC and is trained by Jose Grimaldo.



    • BIG GIG by STAR GUITAR wins his second

      AND THEY ARE RUNNING BACK! Newly turned 3-year-old gelding BIG GIG was 3rd first out, 2nd second out and the third time was the charm and he came from the clouds, wore down the field on got his nose on the wire to graduate at Delta Downs. Running back in an AOC at the Fair Grounds going 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf, the Brittlyn homebred gelding came once again from off the pace andwon for the second time in a row. He is trained by Allen Landry


      The Star Guitar progeny are picking up in 2018 where they left off in 2017. Having closed out 2017 with a new stakes winner in the Louisiana Futurity on New Year’s Eve, Star Guitar added another stakes win when his Testing One Two won the Take Charge Brandi Stakes at Delta Downs on Friday night. This is, to go along with Testing One Two’s win in 2017 in the Louisiana Jewel Stakes, now gives the sophomore filly a record of three wins from four starts and earnings of $150,135. A homebred for the Brittlyn Stable of Evelyn and Maurice Benoit, Testing One Two is out of the Scat Daddy dam, Yes Sir.


      Additionally, Star Guitar’s Double Star was beaten a nose in the Big Drama Stakes at Delta Downs, only to be disqualified and placed third in a rough run race.

    • DOUBLE STAR by STAR GUITAR just misses in the drama filled BIG DRAMA S

      The BIG DRAMA S. at Delta Downs was well named this year as a trio of contenders drove to the wire Newly turned 3-year-old DOUBLE STAR  just missed the win by a nose, but was placed 3rd after an inquiry. Watch for this one! He is tough. DOUBLE STAR  has 2 wins, a second and a third in 6 starts, The colt is owned Four Star Racing, bred by Thomas Edward Vinci & Bill Mayfield (LA) and trained by Robert D. Schultz. 


      IONA STAR cruised to victory in the LOUISIANA FUTURITY at the Fair Grounds. After a couple of mishaps, IONA STAR  graduated with a front-running score at Delta Downs on Nov. 21. Running in her first stakes race, the 2-year-old filly broke on top from her rail draw and dashed to the early lead then opened up for her second straight victory.  She is a Brittlyn Stable homebred trained by Justin Jeansonne.

      On the same card 2-year-old colt GIVEMEAMINIT, graded stakes-placed in the G1 Hopeful at Saratoga and on the board in the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, ran second in the Louisiana Futurity. 6 furlongs is a bit short for him, but still happy for a good effort. He has earned 188,866 for owner Valene Farms and trainer Dallas Stewart. He was bred, foaled and raised by  Clear Creek Stud LLC.

    • FIRE BLASTER by STAR GUITAR named victor in allowance at Delta Downs

      FIRE BLASTER raced forwardly and engaged in a stretch duel with 2 other rivals going 6 1/2 furlongs at Delta Downs. He was impeded by both and placed 1st after a stewards' inquiry to give him 2 wins. The 3-year-old colt is owned by Susan K Love and trained by  Eduardo Ramirez. His breeder is Becky Winemiller.

    • A JUSTIN SOUND by STAR GUITAR graduates with ease in a MSW in his second start

      A JUSTIN SOUND learned the game fast and in his second start went right to the lead and held sway to wire the field and win by over 3 lengths. He raced 6 1/2 furlongs at Evangeline Downs. The Brittlyn Stables homebred is trained by  Victor Arceneaux.

    • SHAMROCK STAR now stakes placed: 2nd stakes horse for STAR GUITAR

      SHAMROCK STAR was in contention until deep stretch and was forced to duel wide in the Cajun Miss S at Evangeline. She checked in third, but gained her first black-type. Shamrock Star  came into the race undefeated in 2 starts.Trained by W. Bret Calhoun and owned by the Carl R. Moore Management LLC, the filly  was bred Half Moon Stables, LLC (LA). She is the second stakes horse for her sire.


      Three year old filly Rose Guitar was forced wide throughout but got up and was inching closer to place second in the Crescent City Oaks at the Fair Grounds. She stepped up into stakes compay from her MSW win a month ago and was the first to give her sire black type. Rose Guitar is owned by Royce G. Roberts and was bred by  Oak Leaf Farm TCLP. She is trained by Jose R. Mendez.

    • SHAMROCK STAR by STAR GUITAR wins 2nd in a ROW

      SHAMROCK STAR was forced wide in her second career start - this time going 6 furlongs on the dirt at the Fair Grounds. She pulled clear to score easily by 5 1/2 lengths.Trained by W. Bret Calhoun and owned by the Carl R. Moore Management LLC, the undefeated filly  was bred Half Moon Stables, LLC (LA). WATCH FOR THIS ONE!

    • STARS R OUT wins again for his sire STAR GUITAR

      STARS R OUT was his sire's second two year old winner last year. Today going 7 furlongs on the dirt at Delta Downs, he was engaged with one foe or another throughout his race, but he outgamed them all for the win. He is earned better than $50,000. He is owned and trained by Patti Turner and was bred by Brittlyn, Inc.

      SHAMROCK STAR completed her preparations for this career debut with a bullet four-panel breeze in :47 1/5 (1/47) Feb. 20 and was given a 2-1 chance here.       Three year old filly WILD ABOUT STAR wired the field to win a MSW at the Fair Grounds in her third start lifetime. Shortened to a 5 1/2 furlong sprint on the turf after a third last out at a mile on the dirt, she relished the change, went right to the lead and although challenged, rebuffed all comers. Most exciting for her breeder, she is a homebred for Brittlyn Stables Inc, campaigner of sire STAR GUITAR. WILD ABOUT STAR is trained by Albert Stall.

      Three year old filly AIR GUITAR STAR, a $65,000 2 year old purchase, stalked the pace on the inside and the accelerated up the rail to grab and hold the lead. She ran 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt at Delta Downs.  AIR GUITAR STAR is trained by  J. R. Caldwell for owners Jason Hall, Gina  Brooks and Dark Horse Racing LLC. She was bred by Larry Romero.

      Right behind her came ROSE GUITAR making a wonderful exacta! Watch for ROSE GUITAR next time.

    • Star Guitar gets his 3rd 2 YO winner

      PHILLY won his first start despite being brushed on both sides just out of the gate, chasing the pace and sweeping wide for the win sprinting 5 1/2 furlongs at the Fair Grounds. He is owned by Wells Foster Warson and Phyllis and William Foster and was bred by Cynthia G. Eyre & Wendell A. Templet. He is trained by Albert M. Stall, Jr.

    • PHILLY by STAR GUITAR starts the year off with a BANG

      Star Guitar's son, Philly, marked himself as one to watch in his Three-Year-Old season as he opened it with an impressive six furlong race at the Fair Grounds on Sunday.  He broke on top and vied for the lead throughout, hit the rail in the stretch and still won by a comfortable three and three quarters lengths while getting the six furlongs in a shade under 1:10 flat. The Al Stall trainee now has two wins from three starts and a fourth in the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile, where he had a rough trip. Philly was purchased by Wells Watson at the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana Annual Yearling Sale from breeders Cynthia Eyre and Wendell Templet and has now earned $56,400.
